This is five week project for a capstone class called Information Design or Design for Understanding. In this class, we each chose a pet project that we thought would benefit from a re-design.
As I always somehow try to integrate food and design, naturally I chose recipes and focused my project around this question:
How to redevelop recipes in a way that creates more confidence in the kitchen?
I conducted a survey, analyzed current recipe formats, made quick paper prototypes, did user testing and finally came up with the format on the right. This new format separates the ingredients into the steps, has a timeline element, shows what materials are needed for the dish and clearly defines the steps of this recipe.
